What exactly is an overhead crane?

An overhead crane is an industrial lifting installation that moves across the full width of a hall using one or two girders. The crane runs on rails mounted at the top of the structure, keeping the entire floor area clear. This makes it ideal for production companies, warehouses and workshops where efficiency and safety are key.

Typical applications

Overhead cranes are used in various sectors where heavy loads need to be moved efficiently and safely:

Production companies

Moving raw materials, semi-finished products and finished goods between different workstations

Metal and steel industry

Handling of heavy plates, profiles and structures

Warehouses and logistics

Loading, unloading and internal transport of heavy goods

Workshops and maintenance departments

Lifting and positioning of machines, parts and tools

Assembly and production halls

Accurate positioning of components during production processes

Construction sector and prefab

Moving concrete elements, steel structures and other building materials
