STANDAERT ROLBRUGGEN

What exactly is a 270° to 360° column jib crane?

A column jib crane is a freestanding lifting installation that is mounted on the floor and operates completely independently of the building structure. The crane consists of a vertical column with a rotating arm, on which a hoist and trolley are mounted.

Depending on the configuration, the crane can have a rotation range of up to 270° or even 360°, allowing a wide working area around the column. This makes column jib cranes particularly suitable for workstations, production environments and loading and unloading zones where flexibility and local lifting capacity are required.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

A 360° column jib crane rotates fully around its own column and offers maximum freedom of movement. A 270° version is installed near a wall or obstacle, where full rotation is not possible. The rotation range is determined by the location and the available space around the column.

The column is anchored to a concrete floor slab or a specific concrete foundation, depending on the lifting capacity and the arm length. The installation is completely independent of the building structure, making it suitable for use in halls without a suitable roof structure for suspension cranes.

Column jib cranes are particularly suitable for individual workstations in production and assembly, operation of machines and workbenches, and loading and unloading zones in warehouses. They are available with lifting capacities from 50 kg to 10 tonnes and outreaches up to 10 metres, with manual or electric operation.
